APM Students a step ahead!

Marketing students from APM College participated in the organisation of this year’s celebrated Australian Marketing Institute Annual Conference ‘Marketing: Fuelling Progress’, held at the Hilton Sydney on 15th – 17th October 2013.

The volunteer students gained valuable and practical experience as they carried out tasks such as ushering, registration desk assistance and conference room assistance. They were also involved in important briefing and planning sessions. In addition to getting their hands dirty, students were able to network with industry professionals and listen to inspirational talks from some of Australia’s and the world’s leading marketers.

Local and international speaker line-up included:

  • James Stevens, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Roses Only
  • Liz Moore, Head of Research, Insights and Analytics, Telstra
  • Tom De Ruyck, Head of Research Communitites, InSites Consulting USA
  • John Sintras, Chief Executive Officer, Mediacom

AMI described the conference as “presenting the latest thinking on a wide range of business and marketing topics, with strong emphasis on the 'marketing value' proposition and, as a natural consequence, the trend to place greater focus on measures of marketing effectiveness and accountability”.

Conference attendees were shown how to achieve marketing success through best practice and effective implementation of new techniques and communications.
