- What made you choose to study at APM?
The laid back and friendly learning environment.
- What were you doing previously to studying at
APM?
Working in retail at BBQ’s Galore!
- What did you enjoy about the course you studied?
The broad base of knowledge covered by the course. The friends
made while studying.
- What was your goal when you enrolled at APM?
To successfully complete the course and gain employment
in a marketing role.
- What is your current job title, company name and
job description?
Marketing Assistant, Rip Curl International.
- Describe what your current role involves?
I work within a global marketing unit that is based in Australia
and USA. I work on global and regional events and marketing
initiatives.
- How did you find your current job?
Whilst doing my internship at Rip Curl’s Sydney sales
office, I found out about the Marketing Assistant position
and applied. I then moved to Torquay (Bells Beach) Victoria
to take up the position.
- What were the most successful aspects of the APM
course?
The internship programme for me was the single most important
part as it got me into the industry that I wanted to be
in and eventually led to my current position.
- What advice do you have for other APM students
hoping to break into your field?
Work hard for what you want and don’t give up. The
surf industry is a very fast moving and exciting one.
- Did you find it easy or hard to get a job after
you graduated?
I was offered my job through my intern company before I
had graduated.
- What other career goals or aspirations do you
have?
I would like to become the Head of Marketing for a global
surf company and then of course, the top job – CEO!
