The areas of sport marketing, sport management and player management are all very closely related. As with general marketing, as a sports marketing professional you are responsible for the management and promotion of a product. However, in this case the product could be a sport, a club, a player or a sporting event. Strategies have to be developed and marketing tools used to achieve your objectives. It is all about getting people wanting to be associated with your sport, club or athlete rather than others. You would look at identifying how you can raise awareness and interest in your product to attract participants, sponsors or even Government financial assistance.
