Living in Brisbane

Brisbane is Australia’s third largest city. It is built on the Brisbane River, approximately 15 kilometers from Queensland's gorgeous coastline, and only an hour or two from the popular holiday destinations - the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. Brisbane is famous for its hot climate, and rarely gets cold, so don’t pack your heavy coat! The city is modern, clean and easy to get around. It has a sleek, cosmopolitan centre with world-class art galleries, a thriving live music scene and a great café culture. Even though it’s a big city, Brisbane still has a casual, laid-back atmosphere that makes it a very easy place to live. Many students choose to live in student residences, shared apartments, or private residencies. If you’re interested in living with a local family and practising your English, then homestay accommodation is a great option. Read more information for international students.
